50 years of sustainable commitment
The GLS Bank celebrated its 50th birthday last weekend at the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum, and Prokon was there. We share not only a long-standing partnership with the GLS Bank in various roles but also a commitment to the continuation of Prokon as a cooperative. Together, we look forward to the next 50 years, during which we aim to make the world more sustainable and fair.
The anniversary festival of the GLS Bank was one of the largest sustainability fairs in Germany. With 150 exhibition stands, concerts, discussions and workshops, visitors were able to experience how a sustainable, future-proof economy could look.
Kai Jacobsen discussed together with Sara Haug from Bürgerwerke eG, Fabian Reetz from everyone energy, Kay Theuer from priwatt and Felix Denzinger from Teckwerke Bürgerenergie eG about the connections between renewable energies, stable democracy, peace and a healthy climate.
Andreas Neukirch, former board member of Prokon, attended the general meeting and celebrations of GLS Bank and exchanged views with Katharina Weinberg and Patrick Ulges on current developments at Prokon.
Luisa Neubauer, Clara Schweizer, and Maren Urner presented various strategies, moderated by Janine Steeger, on how to maintain optimism despite many negative news.
The anniversary of GLS Bank was an opportunity to look back on the past and to look together towards a sustainable future. Prokon looks forward to continuing this path together and thanks GLS Bank for the long-standing partnership.
