Blockchain & cooperatives: Prokon presents feasibility study
As one of the largest energy cooperatives in Europe, we are not only committed to the energy transition, but also to modern, efficient and transparent processes. At the Barcamp, we presented the results of our ‘Blockchain Cooperative’ feasibility study - a project that we realised together with Metafinanz and Brickwise.
In their session, Dr Yousef Farschtschi (Head of IT/Digital) and Christoph Teuchert (Head of Members & Energy) provided insights into the key value propositions of the study. Among other things, they focussed on process improvements for members in the secondary market business. In contrast to the primary market, the secondary market enables the purchase and sale of shares among existing members instead of acquiring the shares directly from the cooperative. The study also focused on optimising the customer experience, e.g. through digital voting for the Annual General Meeting.
