In view of the looming climate crisis, investors are increasingly looking for investment opportunities that are both profitable and sustainable. By becoming a member of Germany's largest citizens' energy cooperative, you not only secure an attractive investment, but also actively promote the expansion of renewable energies in Germany!
Good for the future
With your investment, we build and modernise new renewable energy plants: wind and photovoltaic parks.
Attractive profit distribution
Receive an attractive annual dividend – in recent years it has been between 3 and 5 percent.
Your voice counts
As a cooperative member, you can actively vote on new investments, such as new wind farms.
Sustainable investments are based on ESG criteria, which are the environmental, social, and governance standards of companies. These criteria are used to avoid private and institutional investments in companies whose business practices harm the environment, working conditions, and society. Those seeking to invest sustainably can determine from the company's annual report whether it meets their standards. Those looking to make a change don't have to wait for lawmakers to take action. They can actively choose companies that are committed to a sustainable future and, through their investment, influence policy themselves.
Investing money sustainably - easily explained by Prokon - Germany's largest energy cooperative. Watch the video.
Sustainable: Your investment in the Bürger-Energie-Genossenschaft enables us to build and modernize new wind and photovoltaic farms together. The larger the cooperative becomes, the cheaper it can produce green electricity. As an investor, you also become a member of our cooperative with your shares. With your vote at the Annual General Meeting, you help determine Prokon's future strategies and thus have a direct influence on a greener German energy supply. If you are looking for more than just returns and want to drive real change in climate protection, a shareholding in Prokon is ideal for you.
Secure: Cooperatives are considered the safest legal form
The financial statements are examined thoroughly at the end of a business year by the Genoverband and then, if everything is in order, approved. Finally, the financial statements are formally approved by the general assembly, i.e. all members. This year, Prokon received the "unqualified audit opinion" from the Genoverband. In addition, our broad positioning along the value chain and expansion into other countries ensure diversification and therefore risk spreading. Of course, as with all investments, there remains a small residual risk.
