New permits for wind farms in Rhineland-Palatinate

Good news for our project pipeline: In Rhineland-Palatinate, we have received approvals for two further wind energy projects. The Retterath and Mannebach wind farms comprise a total of seven wind turbines with a planned overall capacity of 36.6 megawatts.

After a long processing period and many challenges, planning permission has been granted for the Retterath wind farm. Three GE 5.5-158 wind turbines are planned there, with a total capacity of 16.5 megawatts.

Permission has also been granted for the Mannebach wind farm under the Federal Immission Control Act. Four wind turbines are planned there. Three of the turbines are planned as GE 5.5-158 models with a hub height of 120.9 metres. At the fourth location, due to restrictions imposed by the German Armed Forces, a GE 3.6-137 turbine with a hub height of 110 metres is planned.

In total, the Mannebach wind farm is expected to have a planned capacity of 20.1 megawatts.

What the permit means for the projects

The approvals do not yet automatically mean that the projects will be built. However, they are a crucial step on the way there: on this basis, we can now continue to assess Retterath and Mannebach in the next project phases, evaluate them economically, and drive them forward in a targeted manner.
