What we stand for as an energy cooperative
For over 30 years, we have been committed to the expansion of renewable energies — and for more than 10 years as an energy cooperative. With over 41,000 members, we are now one of Germany’s largest energy cooperatives. Together, we plan, build and operate wind and solar parks, and as a supplier of 100% green electricity, we deliver the energy generated to where it is needed — to people. Whether at home or in business.
As a cooperative, we belong to our members. Regardless of the number of cooperative shares held, each member has one vote. Together, we decide how we further develop our energy cooperative and shape the energy transition.

Expansion of Renewable Energies

Democratic Participation
Democratic participation is one of the fundamental principles of our energy cooperative. Regardless of the size of their stake, each member has one vote in the General Assembly.

How does an Energy Cooperative work?
Become a Member
Any citizen can become a member of our energy cooperative by purchasing cooperative shares.
Have a Say in Decisions
As a registered cooperative, Prokon belongs to its members. Regardless of the size of their stake, each member has one vote in the general meeting.
Invest together
With their cooperative shares, the members strengthen equity capital and together create the basis for investments in new projects and the further expansion of renewable energies.
Expand Renewable Energy
Together we plan, build and operate wind and solar parks.
Sale of renewable electricity
By producing and selling renewable electricity, our energy cooperative generates revenue.
Benefit together
The returns are reinvested in the further development of our energy cooperative and can, depending on business performance, be distributed to members as a dividend.

New permits for wind farms in Rhineland-Palatinate
We have received approval for two further wind energy projects in Rhineland-Palatinate: in Retterath and Mannebach, we are planning a total of seven wind turbines with a total output of 36.6 megawatts.

Horst and Podelzig-Lebus II: Two wind energy projects on the way to implementation
In Horst, we are modernising our first wind farm, and in Podelzig-Lebus II, new wind power capacity is being developed in Brandenburg.
