Prokon advisory boards - your regional voice

Our regional advisory boards and youth advisory boards play a crucial role at Prokon: they advise, support and act as a voice for the Executive Board by passing on suggestions, sentiments from the region and proposals. You too can get involved and, as a member of the advisory board, promote active dialogue between the Management Board and members of Prokon to drive forward the energy transition.

    Regional Advisory Boards

The Regional Advisory Boards are an integral part of the opportunities for participation at Prokon and stand for co-determination, exchange and communication within the cooperative. They bring perspectives from the regions, advise the Executive Board and help to drive the energy transition forward collectively.

They were established to promote the positive development of the cooperative. Their basis is the Advisory Board Rules of Procedure, which were drawn up in 2020 in collaboration with a number of cooperative members and the former Supervisory Board member Erwin Stepper.

Tasks of the Regional Advisory Boards

The Regional Advisory Boards act as an important link between the members of the cooperative and the Executive Board. Their role is to take up the interests, concerns and suggestions from the membership and feed them into the further development of the cooperative.

In addition to the tasks laid down in the Advisory Board regulations, the advisory boards live out their role primarily through direct exchange with members. In each region, they have their own advisory board mobile phone and email inbox available for this purpose. They also organise various formats such as virtual events, information events on site, as well as excursions.

Their commitment also includes a public presence: for example, advisory board members take part in trade fairs or organise members’ participation in demonstrations. Once a year, the Regional Advisory Boards document their activities in an advisory board report, which provides transparent insight into their work.

Insight into the work of the regional advisory boards

In November 2023, the newly elected advisory board members at the time gathered in Ratingen to take part in a workshop, alongside a tree-planting activity, and to get to know one another in their new formation.

    Overview of the Regions

A regional advisory board consists of at least three and at most nine people from the respective region. Each advisory board team is responsible for a specific advisory board region and represents the members there locally.

    The regions comprise:

    • North (Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Bremen)

    • East (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg, Berlin, Saxony and Thuringia)

    • South-East (Bavaria)

    • South-West (Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and Baden-Württemberg)

    • West(North Rhine-Westphalia)

Further down, the regional advisory boards are presented together with their regional contacts and contact details. There you will also find event information from the regions.
