After we have received your application, we will terminate the electricity contract with your previous supplier and take care of the remaining formalities for the switch. According to the Switching Regulation, this process, the supplier switch, takes around 3 weeks.
The possible start date of your business electricity contract depends on the duration of your previous contract. We will confirm the binding delivery start and the amount of your monthly payment in the contract confirmation.
For industry and large customers, the electricity price holds a different significance than for private households - after all, it is also about safeguarding jobs. Commercial users enter into long-term contracts with electricity suppliers or directly with producers of renewable energy in order to have a trustworthy energy partner by their side, who can provide them with competent and market-savvy advice. These tariffs have a significantly longer duration than those of their private customers. Long-term contracts provide renewable energy producers – including us at Prokon – with the necessary security to sustainably invest in expanding their facilities. Additionally, they offer the opportunity to operate wind farms and large photovoltaic systems after the expiry of the EEG (Renewable Energy Sources Act) funding.
